Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing [VA/PT]

National Cyber Security Policy- 2013 (clearly states that the organization must have Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VA/PT) done on a regular basis.

There are two important processes in VA/PT. They involve scanning of the network, detecting its risks or vulnerabilities and thereby mitigating the same through various systematic procedures. Vulnerability Assessment analyses the security weaknesses in the network and suggests the criticality of the threat. VA/PT is an essential step in security because it generates trust of the customer in an organization and certifies it as a secure service provider.
